would you live in an old wooden house in Haiti?
Chances are if you were sleeping in the old house your grandfather built in Haiti at the time the earthquake, you would be alive to talk about it.
Now that we all agree that KAY BETON is not so safe anymore I have a question for you.
Why type of house would build in Haiti now and why?

I PREFER BUILDING THE HOUSE WITH BRICK OR BLOCK, NOT A WOODEN HOUSE BECAUSE NEGLIGENT PEOPLE WILL GET ON FIRE EVERYDAY THEY DESTROY THE ON LIFE AND THE OTHER PEOPLE
Wooden house pi bon se vre men yo pa kon n kouman pou yo fel li ka reziste avek siklonn pou afe dife a anpil fwa se neglijans se tout kote moun fe neglijans ak dife wap peye sa
I'm agree with you wooden house is safer against earthquake, but not against fire and hurricane.
Every year tens of hurricanes reach Haiti, in 200 years and plus only one deadly earthquake in 2010. So if you think people should only built wooden house we will have more dead people with fire and hurricane.
We only have to make the concrete houses better like in Chile.
N'oubliez pas que
I would go back to the old fashion days of building small round houses with loose soil with soft-wooden-lattice-like style between the walls and thatched roof. They are traditional and they are extremely safe. Tin roof is no good, during tornadoes or earthquakes tin can cut people up and therefore dangerous.
The traditional soil and thatched houses are cheap to make too. They have nicely housed our ancestors for decades until we decided to go modern, Miami style.
What is really the difference between sleeping under the bridge in the United State or having a roof over your head in a little wooden house in your own country.
If that's all you can afford for now, thank God for it 'till later.
Although it is still better than under the bridge.
God
