Breaking news... Former Haitian senator Jean Gabriel Fortune was found dead in his collapsed Le Manguier Hotel in Les Cayes, Haiti, Saturday August 14th 2021 following a massive earthquake what happened in the region.

The body of Jean Gabriel Fortune was found in the rubble of the hotel he owned. According to news reports the former senator had a meeting that morning when the hotel collapsed after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit the region.

On Saturday 14 August 2021, Le Mangier Hotel, a Hotel owned by to former Haiti Senator Gabriel Fortune, collapsed in the city of Les Cayes after a massive earthquake shook the city. Senator Jean Gabriel Fortune was found dead in the rubble.

According to news reports, ex Senator Gabriel lived on the 4th floor of the his Le Manguier Hotel. He was believed to be in his residence with the earthquake hit.

Early reports coming from eyewitnesses reported that the fourth floor apartment where the senator lived could be seen on the ground because the entire Hotel collapsed.

Former Senator and mayor of Le Cayes Jean Gabriel Fortune says the biggest problem Haiti is facing right now is impunity and corruption. "We are in a state where anyone can do whatever he wants in this country and there are no sanctions, no punishment."

"The big fight today is a fight for control of the corruption market," Gabriel Fortune said.

Live in her afternoon news program on Radio Kiskeya, Liliane Pierre Paul reported that Les Cayes city mayor Gabriel Fortune accused her radio station of being a propagandist radio station that was tied under the table of the Privert Interim Government.

Liliane Pierre Paul did even try to deny the accusation.
