More than 6000 people have already gotten sick from Cholera so far this year, the article says. More than 9000 people have died from cholera since October 2010 when cholera mysteriously showed up in Haiti.

Will Cholera ever be a thing of the past in Haiti? One expert from the University of Florida said "once cholera is established in a country's aquatic reservoir it is extremely difficult to eradicate"
