Poisson Gros Sel, a favorite Haitian dish - But what is Gros Sel?

In Haitian Creole, gro can mean big, it can also mean a lot.
What is Gros Sel?
Gros sel is coarse salt, the big bulky salt that is sold in Haitians flea markets all over Haiti, the salt you see your Haitian mother wash before she put it in the food.
The powdered salt sold in the supermarket is called table salt.
Gros Sel or Coarse salt is the sea salt that comes directly from seawater. Its coarse-grained structure distinguishes it from other types of salt.
Poisson Gros Sel means fish cooked with the regular salt Haitians use in Haiti, not table salt.
At least that's what I think it means. Regardless, you have to get you some because Poisson Gros Sel is delicious.
