The first type of news about Haiti that the International media broadcasts is "negative political news."

Whenever there is political turmoil in Haiti and people opposed to the Haitian government take to the streets and start burning tires, gas stations causing all kinds of problems, the international media raise their antenna on Haiti. Suddenly all the main stream media start writing about Haiti... I wonder why...

The second type of news about Haiti that the International media broadcasts is "poverty and charity news."

When there is NO political turmoil in Haiti, the International news media switches to charity and poverty news about Haiti. If one caring American collects two pair of shoes for Haiti, it's suddenly newsworthy because Haitians are behaving and the roof is not on fire.

Try it... Do a news search about Haiti when there is no street protests in Haiti and tell me what you come up with.
