Little Haiti activists plan to Protest Sweet Micky's Flag Day Performance

Haitian activists in Little Haiti Florida are planing to protest a performance by Sweet Micky at a Haitian culture celebration happening at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex this Flag Day, May 18th 2018.

"We don't want him in Little Haiti," said Marleine Bastien, Executive Director of Fanm Ayisyen Nan Miyami (FANM).

The activists even went so far as to send an open letter to Miami Mayor Francis Xavier Suarez saying how outraged the Haitian American community is "that city resources are being used to host a performance by Martelly."

While activists are protesting how Martelly is a "poor model for our youth," the host of the event said Sweet Micky happens to be one of the most popular bands in the Haitian Music Industry and that event is to celebrate that music during Haitian heritage month.
