Haitian Passports - How to apply for a Haitian passport for the first time

Wow simple or complex is it for an average Haitian citizen living in Haiti to apply for a Haitian Passport for the first time? What exactly do you need? How much does a Haitian passport cost? Some people seem to think it is not that simple. Is it?

Haitian Passport

I have a friend who lives outside Haiti and would like his sister to come visit.

Of course she will need a visa to leave Haiti but first she needs to apply for her Haitian passport.

Problem is, the sister lives in Jeremie, and she does not yet have a Haitian passport.

They don't really have reliable help in Port-au-Prince, they don't even know the first step to take. The only connection my fiend had is no longer in Haiti.

He asks me and, personally, I have no clue...

Can you help?

How does an average Haitian citizen with no connection in Port-au-Prince get a passport in Haiti?

Can you simply walk in somewhere and apply for a passport? or is it more complicated than that?

HELLO I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT RENEWING A HAITIAN PASSPORT.

Can a person that lives in Haiti renew their passport a couple months before their passport expires or do they have to wait for it to expire before they can renew it?
