Haiti - Students are protesting because teachers are on strike

In Haiti right now there is a chain of events that directly linked to the Senate of the Republic: Students are now on strike because There is no class, because teachers are on strike because they are not paid enough. But what does that have to do with the Senate? Keep reading...

Teachers in Haiti have been complaining about not making enough money. So recently President Martelly announced that there would be an increase in the teachers salaries BUT... Not until after the Senate approves the new budget.

Haitian Education Minister Nesmy Manigat has been asking teachers to go back to work but I don't think they're listening.

Now the Haitain students are out there protesting and clashing with police...

Hmmmm....
