Newly Renovated Cine Triomphe In Port-au-Prince Haiti, Inaugurated Thursday 21 May 2015
Updated March 17, 2025 2:17 PM
The newly renovated Ciné Triomphe in downtown Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was inaugurated on Thursday, 21 May 2015. Closed since 1988, Ciné Triomphe had long been a cultural scar in the Champs-de-Mars area. Work began in December 2012, and it was finally ready to serve the population once again by May 2015.
News of a newly renovated Cine Triomphe in Port-au-Prince was really good news for Haiti Cinema at the time.
Dithny Joan Raton, Haiti's Ministre de la Culture (Minister of Culture) at the time, went on a quick tour of the premises of Ciné Triomphe a few days before its reopening and shared some photos.
