AH1N1 Flu Alert - 5 dead in Dominican Republic, No Cases Detected in Haiti.
Earlier this week, Dominican health officials confirmed that 5 people have died in the Dominican Republic from the Influenza A virus subtype H1N1. Haiti is on alert, no cases of influenza have been detected in Haiti according to Dr. Guirlaine Raymond Charite, director of the Haiti Department of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

However, the director of MSPP called the Haitian population to remain vigilant and observe health precautions to avoid catching the flu. Especially the Haitian-Dominican border towns.
Influenza A (H1N1) virus is the subtype of influenza A virus that was the most common cause of human influenza (flu) in 2009.
