Many Haitians nationals have had Temporary protected status (TPS) in the United States since 1990. With TPS, Haitians are allowed to live and work in the United States fo a limited time.

What is Temporary Protected Status?

Temporary protected status (best known by Haitians as "TPS") is a temporary status given to eligible nationals of designated countries who are present in the United States.

That's it folks... 18 more months, after that, No more TPS for Haitians... The Trump administration told 59,000 Haitians living in the United States with Temporary Protected Status they have until July 22, 2019 to go home or find another legal way to stay in the US.
