Jovenel Moise will not be able to visit Pont Rouge on October 17th, declaration by Rony Timothée.

On October 17, 2019, Haiti president Jovenel Moise faced a significant challenge as he attempted to visit the Pont Rouge neighborhood.

The atmosphere was tense as political tensions and opposition sentiments were running high in Haiti. The visit was met with resistance and vocal opposition, exemplified by the resolute statements of opposition strongman Rony Timothée.

Pont Rouge is not only a geographical location but also a symbolic representation of the nation's challenges and aspirations.

Pont-Rouge is linked to the tragic event involving Jean-Jacques Dessalines, a prominent leader of the Haitian Revolution and the first ruler of an independent Haiti. Jean-Jacques Dessalines was assassinated in Pont Rouge on October 17, 1806.
