Thanks for reponding Garry,
I have heard of all the chaos that would probably happen if haiti became a commonwealth but my god is it not aleady miserable?
I have to be honest my opinion is based only on distant observation, I have never been to Haiti since leaving there at the age of three.
I have relatives still living there and have watched family members go there and come back to the U.S saddened by the state of Haiti.
It would be such a beautiful thing to finally see Haitians uniting for democracy...
I would love to see the stuggles of the poor and the complaints of the rich combined for human understanding allowing space for the class that matters the one that honors it's people regardless of their social economical stance...
I realize it is probably impossible to care for democracy when your family is starving and your home is a hut...there appears to be no real middle calss in Haiti, you either HAVE or you do NOT HAVE...
America is not perfect by any means but damn, we have opportunities here that I wish my people in Haiti had...
I Understand your suggestions and as much as I believe order is needed in Haiti, I kind of feel that after all these years the haitian government has not gotten it together for the better of Haiti.
Your suggestion for curfews, imprisonment etc..
(who would be in charge of that?) would it not be better (eventually) if it were a Commonwealth?
Our people could eat, have better/safer homes for the poor/ education for the children/ health care options.
The chance to LIVE a life free of (I could name hundreds of things) I know you know what I mean.
Well again, it is opinion, whatever is to be will be...
Haiti's TRUE freedom is long over due.
