True enlightment is found within one's self. those that become successful in order to gain respect are far from reaching success.

We often time face envy and jealousy for what others perceive as success in us. People often time fail to have determination, ethics and the discipline required to be successful.

Therefore they project their own feeling of inadequacies onto others the fell are not any better than them.

I experienced this sort of envy and Jealousy when I was on the Police Force.

Except it was not coming from Haitians like me. it was from the prevalent Hispanic Officers in the department.

I received many commendations in my career, but i assure you, all i did was my Job. I did what the citizens of my community expected me to do as a Police Officer.

It was all about committment and duty. I did not ask for the respect of others, I simply did the best i could and that was enough for me to find peace.

To all the successful people out there, do not make the quest for SUCCESS the driving force in your life. Instead, seek humility, compassion for others, courage to overcome new challenges and a life of righteousness.

May all of you dear haitian brothers and sisters be blessed in your daily lives.
