My conclusion to why cut down a Mango tree to make Charcoal

It so happen that today I was thinking about just that subject.

I was asking myself the same question: Why?

I concluded to this:

a) This person needed quick cash and now therefore he has no other source of income (Someone else said that before here.)

b) He is not employed

c) There is no one in charge to dissuade him from cutting the tree

d) There is no sanction if he does.

There is an urgent need to convince those people to:

1) Go back to agriculture with proper supervision and technical support.

2) to provide a market for their products at a reasonable price.

Our people need health support, educational support and a sure source of income.

All this must be supported by strong legislation that forbid them from cutting any tree.

To do this need commitment, money and technical support and a campaign of education...

It is not an easy job and it is not going to happen just because we talk about it. It's a 24/7/365 job for a dedicated government.
