I can relate to all of your situations, because I am experiencing all of them, painfully:) In the case of the iPhone that is not compatible with the newest version of Skype, Apple just wants all of us to get the latest iPhone, period.

They don't hide it. A couple of years ago, I went into an Apple store in Manhattan, with a 2 year-old iPod in my hands.

As soon as one of the clerks noticed my iPod, he started making fun of me...

before I even said a word to him. He was like "you still got this THING?", and he called out a couple of other employees who were in the storage areas, asking them to come out...

and said to them: "Look what he's got???".

They were all laughing.

Of course I was speechless...

and I didn't know what to do, whether to run or not. I finally managed to leave the store in a hurry...

promising myself to never walk into an Apple store ever.

I just got the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phone, that came out a month ago. I like it mostly because it has a large high definition screen and can take awesome photos and videos.

However, I was disappointed when I tried to watch a video on one of my favorite websites.

I got the message that the video requires adobe flash player...

which is not compatible with my phone.

In this case, the problem is not that my phone is outdated, but rather because the website I am visiting is not keeping up with the latest advancements in technology...

since Adobe flash player is slowly becoming a technology of the past.
