"In the case of eggs, imports from DR decreased by 86.3%...
If that is the case, it means Haiti is producing a lot MORE eggs these days to meet demands..."
Imports from DR decreased by 86.3 and he immediately Assumes that it's because Haiti is producing more eggs. Prove it! See, you Haitians will have to learn that out there in the real world people prefer to be presented with Facts, not Speculations.
Prove to us that Haiti is producing more eggs by citing reliable sources (wall-street journal, NYtimes, CNN, etc.) Prove to us that Dominican eggs are rotting on our farms and that they are not being sold on other markets.
You Haitians seems to be under the illusion that the economy of the Dominican Republic is going to tank because the importation of eggs to Haiti from DR decreased by 86.3%.
For your information, the service sector overtook agriculture as the leading employer of Dominicans (due principally to growth in tourism and Free Trade Zones.
In addition, the Dominican Republic has the second largest economy in Central America and the Caribbean.
Therefore, it is ridiculous to think that the Dominican Republic accomplished all that by selling chickens and eggs to Haiti, the poorest and most illiterate nation in the western hemisphere.
