These are American-made criminals.

They learned and practiced their trades in America, not Haiti.

Why dump them on Haiti at a time when Haiti is already facing unimaginable odds. Because these criminals are also people, they have to survive, so as soon as they get settled in Haiti, they go back to the only trade they know: crime.

The kind of depraved indifference shown by these criminal is indicative of their true social origin: the culture of the west. Even a monster like Duvalier had the "decency" to keep his torture chambers and dungeons of death out of sight.

These Western-made criminals practice their trade where they learned it: in plain sight.

At the same time, there is a parallel brain-drain that takes away Haiti's best elements, thus depriving Haiti of any hopes of redressing its sinking ship. This is a simple abuse of power on a grand scale, might making right.

After doing their time in jail, foreign-born doctors, lawyers and indian chiefs who've done wrong don't get deported.

Why should Haiti bear the blunt ends of the failures of the American system?

Joe
