Here we go with French again...

Here we go with French again.

It is a bit sad that we still create a gulf between languages.

In Haiti, we are fortunate to carry to spoken vehicles of communication, namely French and Creole.

Throughout the years, we tainted people who spoke Creole only to an inferior breed because we thought French was superior.

No language is superior to another.

In the 21st century, among educated members of the new generation, we should not be so trivial to debate the superiority of any of our languages.

Due to the lack of literacy in Haiti, French remains the language of the elite and educated while Creole the idiom of the mass. Whether one chooses French or Creole to express an opinion on this Haitian site, I believe it should be welcome and appreciated.

Since we are in the diaspora and we function in English, English also becomes a vehicle of communication.

French is not responsible for Haiti's problems.

Creole is not to blame either.

In order to make something better with our homeland, we need to clear all these prejudices in language, color and complexion, place of birth within the same country etc...

Whether we like it or not, Haiti is part French, part African, part Caribbean and 100% unforgettable.
