Matt, don't give up. It is going to take years to build momentum.

Teaching self sustaining skills is a good idea. I take it you mean business startups.

But recipients will need seed capital.

There are already micro financing organisations in Haiti based on the Grameen Bank system.

You may want to link up with some of them. Perhaps Woodring could do a piece on the topic and encourage some of them to come forward.
