I think the problem is ignorance.

We have so much of it in Haiti, and
people don't think rationally.

Also, gossip and rumors travel at lightning speed in Haiti, and no one is protected from them. No one dares to challenge them, for fear of being labeled an accomplice.

My father told me about a missionary man who visited Haiti long time ago. His name was monsignor Peters.

After his stay, he was asked what he thought could solve the problems of Haiti.

Monsignor Peters thought for a moment, and answered:" a deluge, a deluge, and a deluge".
