Haiti Food Crisis -- "The world has forgotten Haiti. This country has suffered through 3 years of drought, 2 years that were climate related, now El Nino drought," says Ertharin Cousin, Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme.

In a recent article by Reuters, it was revealed that millions of people in Haiti face food insecurity including 1.5 million who do not know what or when their next meal will be.

Haitians farmers rely on the rainy season to plant their crops, when there's no rain, there's no crop... The worse part of this is the fact that starving Haitians on the countryside resort to cutting down trees for charcoal to earn a living in an already deforested Haiti.
