The Haitian Miami Heat Chearleader who became a Doctor

Fabienne Achille is a Haitian-American NBA Miami Heat Cheerleader who became a Doctor. Wait til you find out who her mother is...

Fabiennne Achille, Miami Heat Chearleader Turned Doctor

Fabienne Achille used to be on the side lines of the Miami Heat, with her pom-poms, cheering for Alonzo Mourning, Dwyane Wade, Tim Hardaway, and Shaquille O'Neal, and she danced her way to 'Doctordom' according to a news article by Gregory Wilson posted on

The article reads:

NBA Cheerleader Dances Way to Doctordom
From cheering on Miami Heat to delivering babies

After dancing her way through school, former Miami Heat cheerleader Fabienne Achille traded in her pom-poms for a stethoscope.

The pretty 28-year-old paid her way through pre-med school at University of Miami by cheering on the likes of Alonzo Mourning, then turned her attention to the grueling medical curriculum at University of South Florida."

Now an obstetrician, Fabiennne Achille is finishing her residency and delivering babies at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami Florida.

Guess who her mother is...

Fabiennne Achille is the daugher of Ginette Eugene the lady who, with her twin sister Gina Eugene, co-founded Good Samaritan for a Better Life, a nonprofit organization that brought Marlie Casseus to the United States.

You recall Marlie Casseus, the Haitian teenager who attracted media attention when she received four surgeries to remove a 18-pound growth from her face that threatened her ability to eat, breathe, and see.

I am always looking for a good Haitian story, I have to admit this is a great story!

Big thanks to M. Bernard, one our subscribers, for bringing this to our attention.
