The Future Of Haitian-Americans Is In Jeopardy

If you are Haitian visiting or living illegally in the United States, any children of yours, born in the USA, will no longer be considered U.S. Citizens.

That is... If The Republicans succeed in their mission to rewrite the 14th Amendment.

"I'm a US Citizen but my daddy is Haitian..." Ohhhh Yerrrrrrr? We can fix that...

Haven't you heard?

Many Republicans are joining forces to push a reconsideration of the constitutional amendment that grants automatic citizenship to people born in the United States.

Think about it for a minute...

Some African guy comes to the United States on a student visa, he drops a black baby, and now this baby is President of The United States...

I guess the Republicans are making sure it doesn't happen in the next century.

The 14th Amendment states: "All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside."

If the Republicans have it their way, Haitians born in the United States will have same rights as Haitians born in the bateys of Saint Domingue.

Don't you think Obama could have gotten his citizenship from his mother, An american citizen?

Even though, his father was not an American citizen under this new law, Barrack would have still been an American.

This anticipated new law is only for people who came from other countries already pregnant to precisely give birth here in America solely for the American citizenship in mind. An the second category is to discouraged illegal people to give birth in this country in view of getting citizenship.

It would apply to illegals from everywhere, not just "people of color".

Its because of things like this that racial issues continue to flare up. anytime someone doesnt like a decision it automatically has to be about the color of skin. Well guess what, thats not it. Rather, it is the fact that those here illegally are criminals, or those who break laws. It wouldnt apply to anyone here legally and the paths to citizenship would remain the same. How about instead of complaining the about the changes, you complain about those that dont respect the laws already in existence?
