The first child born in Chicago was a Haitian-American Child!

Did you know? The first birth on record in Chicago was that of a Haitian-American girl...

Her name was Eulalia Pointe Du Sable, Haitian-American, daughter of Jean-Baptiste Pointe Du Sable.

Eulalia was the first child born in the city Chicago in 1796 but if you do a Google search for "first child born in Chicago" you will probably come up with the name Alexander Beaubien.

This is because Alexander Beaubien was the first WHITE child born in chicago in 1822
