Immigration: Donald Trump puts an end to the Haitian Family Reunification Parole (HFRP) Program

The HFRP Program allowed certain eligible U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to apply for parole for their family members in Haiti. If granted parole, these family members could come to the United States before their immigrant visa priority dates become current. Once in the United States, these individuals may then apply for work authorization while they are waiting to apply for lawful permanent resident status.
Marleine Bastien, head of the Family Action Network Movement said: "I don't think now is the time for the Trump administration to be rolling back protections for Haitian families, especially when Haiti is facing probably one of its worst political crises in history. They should be doing more to facilitate this process."
So much for Donald Trump's campaign promise to Haitians promising to be "their champion."
