Haiti Education Crisis - Thousands of Haitian school teachers getting paid to teach NOBODY...

You often hear about the Haitian school teacher who is constantly on strike because he is teaching students and is not getting paid but did you now about the teachers in Haiti who are getting paid and have never stood in front a classroom?

Amazing isn't it?

Haiti national education minister Pierre Josue Agenor Cadet revealed recently of the 24,000 professors in the educaiton system, 10,000 of them are absentees who receive their salary via direct deposit (virement bancaire) without having to present themselves in schools where they are appointed.

That's right, those who never set foot in a classroom are getting paid while the poor teachter who is teaching gets nothing.

As they say in Haitian Creole, bourik ap travay, chwal ap galonnen!

What fo you think about that?
