I am having Low Back Pain, am I getting old? Is it age related?

Sometimes, as we begin to get older (when young Haitians call you a ti granmoun) we still think we are young super men, capable of doing anything. After lifting 8 deep-cycle batteries 5 feet high, I realize I'm not young anymore. My back hurts like a mother f... LOL...

The funny thing is, I was lifting the heavy batteries I dind't feel a thing. A few hours after I was done, Oh, I felt it.

Is it a lower back strain or a sprain?

Low back pain is a result of an injury to a muscle, doctors call it a strain), or injury to a ligament, what doctors call a sprain.

As you get older, be very careful when you lift heavy objects. Improper lifting of heavy objects can give you some serious lower back pain.

Other things like poor posture, lack of regular exercise, a fracture, a ruptured disc or arthritis, all these can give you lower back pain as well.

Most low back pain will go away on its own within a couple of weeks. So even if it hurts, it's nothing to worry about.

But we're no doctor. You should always consult your doctor for medical advice.

There are a couple of cases when lower back pain become a medical or surgical emergency
-if you can not control your bowel or stool, it is a surgical emergeny b/c you can become paralized in a few hours or days. This condition is called: Cauda Equina Syndrome.
