Guerno Touloute was sentenced on June 15 to spend the next 30 years in a Dominican prison for the murder of Carmen Amberis Diaz.
Touloute murdered Ms. Diaz outside her home then carrying her lifeless body into her bathroom and then proceeded to stealing a computer, a cellphone, some cash and a safe before he fled the scene.
Pursued for murder in the neighboring Dominican Republic, Touloute fled to Haiti, his homeland, hoping to escape paying the price for the crime. Haitian authorities captured in and extradited him back to the Dominican Republic to pay for his crime.
