95 percent of the Haitian population speak Kreyòl fluently but they are forced to learn in French, a language spoken by only 5% of the population
The MIT-Haiti Initiative wants to promote technology-enhanced active learning and the use of Kreyòl in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) disciplines, to help Haitians learn their native language.
