Samyr Laine Came Up Short for Haiti at the 2012 Olympics

Haitian athlete Samyr Laine did not win any medal competing for Haiti at the Olympics in London but he surely kept Haiti in the news.

I was hoping so much for Samyr to win in the Olympics. Haiti needs a Medal. Haiti hasn't won an Olympic medal since Silvio Cator took a silver in the long jump in 1928.

Samyr competed for triple jump. He gave his best. Unfortunately, even his record jump of 17.39 would not have won him a medal for Haiti.

Samyr was competing with World class champions, from countries who spend millions and millions of dollars training their athletes.

Did you watch the Haitian athletes compete at the olympics?

What can you say about their performances, especially Samyr Laine?
