Haiti will host the next CARIFESTA in 2015

It's official... Haiti will be the host country for the next CARIFESTA, the popular Caribbean Festival of Arts. The 12th edition of this regional cultural festival, CARIFESTA XII, will be held in Haiti in 2015.

The 11th edition of CARIFESTA has just ended in Suriname where President Desi Bouterse formally handed over the "cultural baton" to Haiti President Michel Martelly at the closing ceremonies, Caribbean Journal reports.

Haitian hip hop star Wyclef Jean, Mikaben and Ti Koka were some of the artists who attended and performed at the event to represent Haiti. There was a stand as well that represented Haiti's ministry of tourism and the ministry of culture.

About CARIFESTA: Caribbean Festival of Arts, commonly known as CARIFESTA, is an international multicultural event organized on periodic basis by the countries of the Caribbean. The main purpose is to gather artists, musicians, authors, and to exhibit the folkloric and artistic manifestations of the Caribbean and Latin American region.

I think it will be great to host in Haiti since Haiti is the major contributor of the most beautiful carribean Arts and Crafts in the whole world.
