Haiti Sewer System and Waste Water Treatment

I was just talking to a friend of mine about possible businesses one can start in Hinche Haiti where I am from, and I quickly realize that some of these business ideas require a sewer system and waste water treatment.

I said to my friend:

"You know, growing up in Hinche, Haiti, I had to carry my mother's laundry to the Guayamouc River or worse, Hinquitte when Guayamouc is dirty, where she would sit all day in the hot sun to wash them by hand. wouldn't it be nice to go back home and open a Laundromat in Hinche so people wouldn't..."

He didn't even let me finish.

"A Laundromat? what do you plan to do with the waste water?
Ou pral lage-l nan kanal yo pou fe plis marengwen?
(you're just gonna dump it in the canals and create more mosquitoes?)"

I had to stop and change the question from "How much would it cost" to "is it possible?"

Is it possible for a regular joe like me and you to even think of opening a Laundromat in a major Haitian city like Hinche Haiti where the Department of Public Works (Travo Piblik) is not even dreaming about the flow of dirty water (sewage) out of the city?

I know there are "TOU EGO's" in Port-au-Prince. I also know that every time it rains, flood water, mixed with all kinds of funky stuff, flows downhill towards Boulevard La Saline... which is probably why the RICH in Haiti lives UPHILL (Neg Anwo)!

In Hinche, There are no "TOU EGO's... Everything flows to Guayamouc... So Guayamouc is the waste water treatment system for Hinche residents... Who cares about the people down river...

You see... LABEG, the little rural community where my father grew up (LAKOU LAKAY), that's down stream... So you see? I care!

Great point! But now you got me wondering just how do they get rid of the toilets waste in Haiti.

Anything is possible in Haiti, we just need good innovative ideas and good governence to make things happen.

I THINK IT IS POSSIBLE TO BUILT A LLAUNDROMAT IN HAITI.

FOR INSTANCE, LOOK AT THE WAY THEY UTILIZE TO GET RID OF THE WASTE FOR THE TOILET IN HAITI.

TYHEY CAN USE THE SAME METHOD FOR THE LAUNDROMAT
