Haiti Took Part in Second Caribbean Tsunami Warning Exercise
Haiti participated Wednesday, March 20, on a tsunami warning exercise on a large scale, involving 30 countries of the Caribbean and adjacent regions, the second test since a big tsunami hit Japan back in March 2011
Haiti :: Hurricane Sandy - The River in the Back Yard!
This simulation was used to test the warning system for tsunamis and other coastal hazards in the Caribbean Sea and regions surrounding the Caribbean.
Through its national system of risk management and disaster, Haiti works to mitigate the tsunami risk awareness, particularly through school, the development of inundation maps for coastal cities and the organization of evacuation exercises.
