I have limited experience with containers in haiti.

its the only time in my life I paid a "bribe".

I put bribe in quotes becuase its my understanding that the customs official you are talking too may not have been paid in a while ...he and his family have to eat. being new to the whole thing and they were so nice I asked what would be good and they replied " its up to the generosity of your own heat. I paid $250 usd to get a container released but be careful.

Also, my friend they regulate the cost based on the blue book value; which means whatever you tells them your vehicle is valued, they will ignore and charge you based on the kbb. You really have no say in what they charge.

The reason why you can't get an exact amount is because Haiti's custom is not really regulated.

You can rest assured it will cost you at least $2,500usd to get that bimmer out. That's just a ballpark.
