Haiti Gas Prices go UP at the Pumps Starting Friday

The price of Gasoline, Diesel and Kerosene are going up officially in Haiti starting Friday, 10 October 2014, Haiti's Finance Ministry announced... Starting Friday, all Haitian drivers will notice a 15 gourdes increase to the price of gasoline raising the price to HTG $215.00 gourdes...


Gas For Sale by The Gallon In Haiti

Early this morning, Radio Caraibes FM reported this increase.

Haiti's Finance Minister, says, the State of Haiti has not increased fuel prices in a long time but this time it is necessary for prices to go up so the government can collect more money from the consumption of of fuel in Haiti.

So... Starting Friday, you will need at lease 15 gourdes per gallon to put gasoline or diesel in your car, you will also need more money to put kerosene in your lamp tet gridap...

Hopefully the money they collect will be invested in needed infrastructures such as roads, schools, clinics, etc. And won't end up getting funneled to some Swiss bank account.
