Authorities from the Ministry of National Education are increasing the number of working sessions to develop an action plan likely to favor the continuation of school activities and allow children to return to school after two months of inactivity due to the political crisis that paralyzed the country in recent months.

MENFP is trying to reorganize the school calendar 2019-2020, they plan to develop a program with minimum skills to validate the school year for the basic and secondary education.

The education ministry also wants to start a awareness campaign around the right to education.

School students are the first to suffer the consequences of bad politics in Haiti since school closings is the first attempt of anyone who wants to protest when attempting to overthrow a sitting president.

One often hears in Haiti that the children of these political leaders are being schooled overseas while they are preventing children of the people in Haiti from going to school.

Let us hope the Ministry of Education succeeds in their attempt not just to reopen schools but to convince these politicians who say they are fighting for the people to stop using school children for they own political gains.
