Opposition leaders like Senator Youri Latortue and Andre Michel spoke out saying it is time for the children to go back to school so they do not lose the school year although this will not stop the mobilization against president Jovenel Moise.
Street protests will continue but only on weekends, they say.
In a message posted on social media, Andre Michel announced a change in strategy: No more demonstrations on weekdays.
On Twitter, Senator Youri Latortue invited school children from Gonaives to go to the school. "On January 6 our children will go back to school, however the mobilization continues every weekend," he wrote.
