According to Haiti Press Network, the two guardians at the university were in shock, unable to pin point where the fire came from or how it got started.

This is not the first time that Universite St Gerard suffered from a disaster... The original building of Universite St Gerard was destroyed during the 2010 Haiti earthquake and many students were killed. All the efforts that were made to restore the functioning of the establishment perished in fire early Sunday morning.

There are no reports of casualties but the damages are extensive according to news reports...

This is tragic and sad at all levels.

First of all, Haiti does not have enough of anything and whatever goes wrong with anything they already have constitutes a desaster.
