This protest was a response to the recent lynching of a Haitian national at a public square in Santiago, Dominican Republic, recently and the murder of another Haitian in the Elias Pina, DR, one week later.

Many Haitians are not very happy about the way Haitians are being treated in the Dominican Republic.

They made their decisions and go to DR however they got there, and Dominican takes advantage of their situations because you were our slave.
