Haitian Culture vs. Haitian Ignorance : NOT everything we Haitians do is "Culture"

There are many things that we Haitians consider culture but when other people look at us doing these things, they see it as pure ignorance. Are we right? Are they wrong?

Agriculture in Haiti, Very Primitive

First let's define these words, culture and ignorance and culture.

IGNORANCE:

Ignorance is the lack of knowledge or lack of information about a subject. Not to be confused with STUPID which means you lack the mental capacity to even understand that you are ignorant.

An ignorant person can seek more knowledge so he/she can become less ignorant.

CULTURE:

Culture is the manifestation of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively. Culture are the ideas, customs and social behavior of a particular people or society.

Why am I comparing CULTURE with IGNORANCE?

Let's be honest. There are many things that we Haitians consider culture, it is not culture at all, it is pure ignorance. Many of us Haitians do things a certain way because we don't know any better. BUT,as soon as we acquire more knowledge, we now know that we should do it differently.

At that time, Do you maintain the status quo because it's culture or do you CHANGE?

I am tempted to give examples but I am not going to :)

My fellow Haitians, we have to be very careful. Once you realize that what you are doing is not culture but ignorance, at that point, you have the opportunity to seek more knowledge so you can be less ignorant.

If you fail to do that and you continue to do the same thing the same way because "It's your culture," then you are STUPID, as the saying goes, you can't fix stupid.

What do you think about that?

Haitians need to do the hard work of building institutions both in Haiti and in the Diaspora so we can stop repeating the same mistakes over and over. We keep saying we are proud of the "first Black independent Republic" but there is a high level of distrust and individualism in Haitian culture, especially among the educated and privileged, which keep us from cooperating over many years to build businesses, organizations and other institutions that last while nurturing true leadership, especially among the younger adults.

How about school uniforms?

That is the one of the dumbest things Haitians cling to. Who gives a flying fuck about some stupid uniform?

Teach them better and don't make them wear stupid

Ignorance and STUPID are roaming the streets of P-au-P, forcing businesses and schools to shut down and thus further ruining the economy of the country.

The blind crowds follow someone who is now broke, but wants to have a president salary for the next six
