Cremas: Haiti's Holiday Beverage - It's like eggnog but a million times better, author said
Cremas (Kremas or Cremasse) - Delicious Haitian Holiday beverage
Haitian author Nadege Fleurimond was asked do describe Cremas. She paused. Breaking into a wide smile, she said, "It's like eggnog, but a million times better and without eggs. Think coquito, but creamier, flavorful, bold, and robust," according to foodandwine.com
She is so right! What is Christmas in Haiti without some Cremas?
Crémas is a sweet and creamy alcoholic beverage native to Haiti. The beverage is made primarily from creamed coconut, sweetened condensed evaporated milk, and rum.
I remember one time during the holidays, I bought a nice bottle of Cremas. As soon as my wife opened the bottle so take the first sip, whooppp!!! It slipped thour her fingers straight to the ground and smashhhhh!!! right onto the floor. This picture is my only memory of that bottle LOL...
