Reminiscing The First Steps

I tell you that as long as I can conceive something better than myself I cannot be easy unless I am striving to bring it into existence or clearing the way for it

- George Bernard Shaw -

That's it!...
You can do it!...
Come on!...
Come to Daddy!...

The other day, I screamed so loudly, I was surprised my neighbors didn't dial 911 thinking something was wrong.

It was a cry of joy and happiness that you will never experience unless you're a mommy or a daddy.

I witnessed my son Woodring Philippe as he made his first steps! It was truly one the most amazing events of my life.

What's the most amazing event of your life?

We were sitting down watching TV, then I picked him up and I put him on his two feet, then I slowly let go of his hands.

Come on, Woody!
Come to Daddy!

I could tell that he wanted to get right back on the floor where it's nice and comfortable.

If he sits on the floor, then his risk of falling down is ZERO.

If he stands up and tries to make his first step, then his risk of falling is greater but if succeeds and makes that first step, he immediately becomes a giant in the world of crawlers.

So my wife and I started clapping to encourage him a little.

You can do it woody!
That's it, come on!
Come to Daddy

Whatever changes you want to make in your life will not come easy.

That first step towards change is the heaviest one. It carries a lot of 'what ifs', negativity, and uncertainty.

The hardest thing about your first step is not the step itself but the lack of encouragement from the ones you love.

We all reach a certain age where people stop clapping as we continue making first steps. Since you are all alone in the process, FEAR and DOUBT sets in very quickly and you give up before you event get up.

Other times you force yourself to get up and go for it, then you look look around and you listen to all these negative people trying to protect you, then you sit right back down.

If doesn't have to be that way!

If its encouragement you need...

  • to be successful,
  • to loose weight,
  • to change your life for the better, or...
  • to make any other first step,

there are places where you can get the support and encouragement you need.

A drug addict goes to a rehab center so he can get treatment and encouragement as he makes the first step towards a drug-free life.

If you seek success and financial independence, then I strongly encourage you join a networking marketing company like Amway.

It was there that I learned NEVER to ask my nextdoor neighbor how to become rich. "If he knew," the man said, "he wouldn't be your nextdoor neighbor!"

Don't do it for the money, do it for the training you will be receiving and the great people you will meet.

Oh yeah!... Some people call it 'brain washing'... What can I say... Everything needs a lilttle cleaning every once in a while!

I never forgot the day my sponsor handed me my first reading assignment. It was a book called "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. That's where it all began. That's where I made my first step.

My son made his first steps because...

  • I picked him up and
  • I stood him up,
  • I encouraged him, and
  • I picked him up again every time he fell.

I watch him closely as he lifts that heavy leg and moves it about four inches in front of him with both arms up in the air responding to the cheers of his two cheerleaders - Mommy and Daddy.

Now he's a BIG giant in the world of crawlers.

What is it you seek?

  • Fame and fortune
  • Love and happiness
  • A lean and healthy body?
  • A career change?

Everything you want awaits... All you have to do is make the first step... and keep on step'n!!!

That was the most touchy, and beautiful article I've read in a long time. It took me back to my sister's first step (now she's eight).

You know, I always doubt whether I want to be a mom or not, to be frank with you, now I want to be a mom (some day soon).

It's not even my son, and I can feel the joy of watching that beautiful boy takes his first step. I'm glad your wife was there with you to enjoy that once in a lifetime event.
