Haitian-American Spring Valley Pastor holds mother's funeral on Social Media with church closed due to Coronavirus

When the mother of Spring Valley's First Timothee Christian Church Haitian-American pastor Nathaniel Demosthene passed away in the middle of the Coronavirus pandemic, everyone member the church wanted to attend the funeral. So the good pastor decided to hold a virtual funeral for his mother so his assembly could attend while practicing social distancing.

Sonia Demosthene, the wife of retired Pastor Tony Demosthene, Nathaniel's father and founder of the first Timothy Baptist Church, had her funeral services streammed live on Youtube, Facebook and the churches official web site ftcctoday.com on March 26, 2020.

Only a few family members were in attendence at the church, keeping their social distance, face mask, gloves and all.

The rest of the assembly, each one of them including my mother Elianie, were at home watching the going home of sister Sonia Demosthene via social media.

I do remember Sister Sonia back in the days when I was only 13 years old going to church with my mother when the church was still small, the assembly had just started to grow near the train station in Spring Valley.

Little Nathaniel was just a kid playing the drums at the church.

At least God allowed her, sister Sonia, to live long enough to see her husband build a Haitian church of reference in Spring Valley and to see her little boy, Nathaniel, grow up and take the lead, and continue the works of his father, Sonia's husband Tony, before calling her home.

Mission Accomplished!

"J`ai combattu le bon combat, j`ai achevé la course, j`ai gardé la foi."
2 Timothee 4:7

Si nou pa wè isit ankò, yon jou n'a wè anwo!

Rest in peace, sister Sonia Demosthene!
