Clarifications on evacuation procedures for U.S. citizens

Joint Information Center (JIC Haiti)

  • At this time, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince is evacuating only U.S. citizens.
  • U.S. citizen children may travel to the United States with one non-U.S. citizen adult escort, preferably a parent or other family member.
  • Only one non-U.S. citizen adult will be allowed to escort the U.S. child to the United States.
  • Two or more U.S. citizen children in the same family can be accompanied by only one non-U.S. citizen escort.
  • Remember, parents of the U.S. citizen child MUST give formal permission for the named escort to accompany the child.
  • Remember, the parents of the child must agree to repay the United States government the airfare costs of both the child and the escort.

Anderson Cooper help in his own way because of the journalist the world saw what Haiti was going thru and lot's of them decided to help so my people stop being so judmental.

I feel like I have been standing naked in front of the world for the past two weeks.

I'd like to thank the American Ambassy in Haiti for the humanitarian gesture toward the haitian people.

However, why immigration and naturalization services does not allow those who have their parents here in United Stated, those affected by the earthquake, who already applied for a visa the chance to join their parents, if they really want to help a non-citizen to come. I am an American citizen and I have applied for permanent residence for my sister Polette Antoine which has no husband, no kid, no mom, no dad to help her
