TPS for Haitians : John Kelly tells Haiti President start thinking about bringing Haitians on TPS home

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly met with Haiti president Jovenel Moise and told him literally to start thinking about how to bring all the Haitians with TPS back to their home country.

TPS For Haitians

John Kelly told the Miami Herald:

"TPS is not supposed to continue to be enforced until Haiti's like Jamaica, or any country with a very functioning democracy [or] a relatively low unemployment rate. That's not the point of it...

"TPS was granted based on the [2010] earthquake... Things in Haiti were tough for decades prior to the earthquake, and will be tough for decades to come. But the reason TPS was granted was because of the earthquake."

"TPS should not have to remain in place until Haiti is a completely functioning economy with no problems."
