Bring the car to the port empty and hand over the keys. This is one of the comments made by the journalist who made the report.

According to journalist Guerrier Henry of Radio Mega in Haiti this is not a decision of the shipping company. It is a decision made by custom.

We assume it is in order to prevent the illegal shipment of weapons and ammunition that has been coming into the country.

Most Haitians who ship vehicles to Haiti often load it up with all kinds of items and boxes. They pact these vehicle with used items that they sell in Haiti.

Inside some of these items, bad guys with bad intentions place weapons and ammunitions that is being sold to criminals in Haiti.

I guess this practice will no longer be tolerated.

If you need to ship items to Haiti you would have to ship them separate from the vehicles
