In future Dominican Republic will be able to sell energy to Haiti, Dominican corporate executive said
With the electricity generated by Punta Catalina and the new renewable energy projects, the Dominican Republic will be able to offer energy to the neighboring Republic of Haiti says Rubén Jiménez Bichara, executive vice-president of the Dominican Corporation of State-owned Electric Companies (CDEEE)

He indicated that the process could be viable through an agreement with international organizations, given the issue of the need to rehabilitate distribution and transmission networks in the main Haitian towns.
Bichara talked about the Punta Catalina Thermoelectric Power Plant near Bani, Dominican Republic, that is generating a whopping 385 megawatts of electricity in its primary testing phases. A second plant will be generating another 300 megawatts or more by October.
