Haiti Health - My simple medical problem got complicated due to lack of medicine

I had to wait for the over the over-the-counter medicine to arrive from the neighboring Dominican Republic to get relief. By that time it was too late and my simple discomfort became much worse, it cost me a good 8 to 10 days of work and a trip to the doctor.
That makes me wonder... How do pharmacies stock medicine in Haiti? Everything time you need something to get better, you drive around to every little pharmacy in town only to hear: "I don't have it"
I know some of you may say: "Well there is a big pharmacy in Haiti where I leave in Port-au-Prince." Good for you but shouldn't there be at least ONE BIG pharmacy in every major city in Haiti?
I am beginning to get the impression that there are many people are dying everyday in Haiti due to lack of simple medicine and they blame the boogeyman.
If my simple discomfort can escalate into such a serious health matter when I already knew what to ask for at the pharmacy, I wonder what happens to the person who doesn't even know what to ask for?

There are about 35 pharmaceuticals agencies approved by the department of pharmacy.
Those agencies are under rules and regulations that changes every year. We are regulated and blocked by the government of pharmacy at the same time the streets are full of medicines that come from crossing the borders without authorization.
I have in hand 30 dossiers of Mede ones to present to the department of PHARMACIE for approval, when I called they gave me an appointment for July 15.
Haiti is still an under develop county.

It is even sadder when it comes to you. If the government is promoting tourism, it is very important that they be aware of this basic facts, so they can take the appropriate actions.

Now you have a problem, analyze it find a pharmacy that would stuck uo on that and other medecine.
There you go with a business opportunity.
Stuck up on medicine that people need and the pharmacies don't have and after a while, you will be THE PHARMACY in town. Or better yet, have a meeting with the owners and led a group of about 5 of them to merge their business so they can carry more
