Rwanda wants to become the Singapore of Africa. What does Haiti want to become of the Caribbean?

Which model country is Haiti trying to be like?

Twenty-some years ago, 1994, Rwanda was the epicenter of a genocide where over 1 million people died in record time. Now Rwanda has one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Rwanda is becoming the Singapore of Africa.

Why did Rwanda chose Singapore as a role model country?

Singapore went from a country with a population where half of was its people was illiterare in 1965 when it became independent to be coming now the 8th safest country in the world, the third richest country in the world, the third least corrupt country in the world, and the third country what's the longest life expectancy in the world.

Singapore went form of definitively third world country to a definitively first world country in one lifetime.

Do you know what that means?

Rwanda, a country that was in chaos less than 30 years ago decided they are choosing Singapore, one of the best Asian countries, as their role model so they can propel themselves way up the African continent.

The Rwandans are not wishing for it to happen. They are making it happen in one lifetime.

Haiti, despite its rich history, has been in chaos for God knows how long.

Do you know what saddens me?

All of the people we call leaders of Haiti these days, they have never, not once, utter the words: We are choosing so and so country as our role model.

None of these so-called leaders have ever said: We went to Haiti to become the Singapore of the Caribbean.

You know what? I want to hear someone say it.

I want to hear a Haitian leader selling his/her plan to make Republic of Haiti the Singapore of the Caribbean.

If Rwanda whet from genocide to becoming the Singapore of Africa and they are black just like us, why the hell can we not do the same?

By the way, I wanted to add to the article that when a visionary comes to power in Haiti and begins to execute such a vision, he either gets assassinated or evicted from the power seat. But I think that would complicate things. Some of you, blinded by greed and other sins, would miss the essence of the article.
